Throughout my five years working for SD73 I have attended multiple professional development workshops. The below link highlights a few of the attended workshops and courses I have taken, however, there are many more. I am dedicated to continuing to learn and grow, and professional development is one way that I can stay current with best practices and new ideas.

7th Annual Conference – Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton 2014
A three-day workshop in Edmonton Alberta. The highlight of this workshop was hearing the founder of The Zones of Regulation, Leah Kuypers, speak. This was the first time I was introduced to the Zones of Regulation and since then have implemented the language and strategies daily in my work with students.

Play is the Way – Thompson Rivers University: December 3, 2019
Five-hour professional learning workshop presented by Leroy Slanzi. Instruction on how to develop the personal and social capabilities of elementary students through using “Play is the Way” games, self-reflective language, and guiding concepts. The “Play is the Way” method develops self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and social management.
